Women’s Volleyball BUCS: Sunderland 0-3 Leeds

Last Wednesday, November 1 Team Sunderland Women’s Volleyball embarked on their first away game of the season against Leeds, but ending up on the wrong side of a 3-0 scoreline.

The first set saw Sunderland get off to a promising start but eventually succumbed to a 17-25 score. It was a valiant effort, but the opposition proved to be a formidable force.

The second set was an even tougher challenge for Sunderland as they fell short at 2-25.

Perhaps the change in the starting lineup played a role in this, but it was an experience for the team.

This round saw some newcomers to the world of volleyball stepping onto the court, and it had an impact on the result.

However, it’s worth commending them for their confidence and ambition, even in such a short time in the sport. These qualities will undoubtedly serve the team well in the future.

The third set reverted to the lineup from the first set, resulting in a closer 19-25 score.

Sunderland is showing progress compared to their previous game against Durham.

They are diligently honing their skills and experimenting with different team positions to find the winning formula.

The opponents, on the other hand appeared seasoned and confident, with some players clearly having been a part of the team for quite some time.

Sunderland faces a tough journey ahead, but their determination and adaptability are becoming evident as they strive for victory.

The next match is set to take place against Northumbria 2nd team in CitySpace Sports Hall on November 15 at  8pm.
