Sunderland will have been looking forward to the visit of Liverpool on the 3rd of December before adverse weather conditions meant that the game had to be postponed.

The Mackems form had been impressive leading into the game, with victory in their previous two outings.

However, their last Premier League Cup game did end in defeat, against the same opponents they entertain on Monday.

The Premier League Cup is formatted with a group stage, in which the top two sides advance to a classic knockout competition.

Currently occupying second place in Group E, Sunderland could finish the game in top spot, with victory over Spurs.

Having won every single game of their domestic season so far against U21 teams, Tottenham will be feeling extremely confident about their chances of victory against the Wearsiders.

Spurs have a number of dangerous players but perhaps none more so than Yago Santiago.

Santiago joined the Lilywhites from Celta Vigo in 2019, when he was just 16 years old.

Having found the back of the net six times this season from midfield, Sunderland’s chances of victory depend on how quiet they can keep the Spaniard.

Tickets are still available for the game, with kick-off at 19:00 at Eppleton CW.
