Max Verstappen Wins his 4th Drivers Championship in Succession
Max Verstappen has been crowned F1 Drivers Champion at the Las Vegas Grand Prix, with it also being his 4th title in succession.
Verstappen has become the sixth driver in history to have four or more titles.
After winning his 4th Driver Championship, Verstappen is now equal with some of the greats such as Juan-Maunel Fangio, Alain Prost and Sebastian Vettel.
Verstappen in the 2025-26 season will aim to equal Michael Schumacher’s record of winning five Drivers Championships in a row.
Last season, Verstappen in the RB19 had the most dominant season in F1’s history winning 19 out of 22 races. Verstappen had set the aim of winning the drivers title again this year. However an unexpected Red Bull performance slump left room for McLaren driver Lando Norris to put himself in contention of winning his first Drivers Championship.
This would soon become heartbreak for the British driver after he failed to narrow the gap due to Verstappen’s consistency throughout the year. The closest the margin got in the latter stages of this season was after the COTA Grand Prix, with there only being a 47 point gap between them.
Verstappen won the Drivers title with only winning eight wins this season.
This was mostly due to the fact that Verstappen did not have the car performance compared to what he had last season, but also this year having most amount of different race winners in a single season.
It’s going to be a close fight for the Drivers Championship next year, with Lando wanting revenge on Verstappen and especially if Lewis Hamilton can perform in a Ferrari.
Will Mad Max be able to do it again to make it a 5th next year?
