Preview: Premier League Darts Night Nine – Berlin
Luke Littler will be looking to extend his lead at the top of the table at Night Nine of the Premier League Darts in Berlin.
The 18-year-old gave himself an eight-point gap from second place Luke Humphries after thrashing the world number one 6-1 in the final in Newcastle last week.
‘The Nuke’, who has won four nights in the campaign so far, faces Chris Dobey in the third quarter-final on Thursday. Dobey will be looking to rack up a few more match wins to pull himself towards the top half of the table.
Stephen Bunting, who was beaten by Littler in the quarter-final last week, will face Nathan Aspinall in the first match of the night.
Aspinall reached the semi-finals in Newcastle after beating Michael van Gerwen and gave Humphries a run for his money in their semi-final match, going 4-2 up before narrowly being defeated 6-5 by the former World Champion.
The second quarter-final consists of last week’s other semi-finalist, Rob Cross. ‘Voltage’ plays Humphries and will be hoping to reach the final for the first time in this year’s competition.
The final quarter-final will have a repeat of the semi-final in Nottingham, where Michael van Gerwen faces two-night winner Gerwyn Price, who was previously victorious in Dublin on Night Three as well as in Nottingham on Night Six.
Price won his second PDC title of the year at Players Championship Nine on Monday after defeating a resurgent Ian White in the final.
